Visiting your sponsored child

During the pandemic, we have been unable to arrange any field visits for sponsors. The possibility to visit is now slowly starting to open up again. A visit must always be arranged through Compassion. If you are interested in visiting your sponsored child, you are welcome to email us at info@compassionfi.fi.

Every year, several of our sponsors go on a visit and find meeting their sponsored child to be life changing. The day you spend with your sponsored child will provide you with a unique insight into their situation, culture and community. Plus, your will see first-hand the difference your sponsorship is making.

What you need to know about visiting your sponsored child

• You will need to have been supporting a child with Compassion for at least a year.
• You need to arrange your visit through our Sponsor Donor Services team. Please get in touch with us at least 10 weeks in advance.
• Visits take place at a Compassion center or other suitable location. If possible, you will also visit your sponsored child’s home and meet their family.
• While visiting your sponsored child, your will need to pay for any expenses incurred, including transport, visit host, meals and accommodation.
• Visits are one day and between 3 and 6 hours long.
• It is important that you as a visitor take part in and endorse our guidelines on the protection of children. Read more about this HERE
